| About Us
We are a [growing] group of individuals and families with an interest in creating our own "intentional community" at Mentone [NE Alabama on Lookout Mountain]. The location will be on the grounds of the Heartwood Retreat. Here we will build a self-sustaining eco-village, combined with an educational arm, where we will hold workshops to teach hands on lessons in what we will already be doing. In part, that will include building with natural materials [clay, cob, straw-bale, adobe, cordwood, earth-bag, etc...] to build our own cob structures, earth-ships, and more. We will also create a healing center, a meditative
place to relax, and rejuvenate. Energy work, Reiki, Yoga, Massage, and
more are planned. Heartwood is already such a retreat.
